Employment Equality Acts 1998 and 2004The Employment Equality Acts 1998 and 2004 deal with discrimination within employment. The Acts deal with discrimination related to any of the following nine grounds:

- age
- race
- religion
- disability
- sexual orientation
- membership of the Traveller community
Equal Status Acts 2000 and 2004
The Equal Status Acts 2000 and 2004 relate to discrimination based on the following nine grounds: Gender, Marital Status, Family Status, Age, Race, Religion, Disability, Sexual Orientation, Membership of the Traveller community.
This Act includes a number of positive action measures designed to advance and underpin participation by people with disabilities in everyday life by supporting the provision of disability specific services and improving access to mainstream public services.
