Holder of EWI Marie Curie Research Fellowship in Gender Equality.
Dr Ernesto Vasquez Del Aguila’s background is in anthropology and obtained a PhD in Medical Anthropology from Columbia University, New York city. He worked as researcher in diverse institutions in Latin America and in the USA in projects relating to health, gender, migration and sexuality. He has taught programmes on research methodologies and social aspects of global health. As a medical anthropologist he has a particular interest in research that can contribute to the elimination of gender and health inequalities among vulnerable populations.
His work as EWI Marie Curie Fellow on Gender Equality is located with the EWI research cluster on Women, Gender and Sexuality. He is based in the Women’s Studies Centre, UCD School of Social Justice where is working with Dr Ursula Barry. While in UCD he is also working to establish a network of scholars interested in masculinity studies.
