Congratulations to Prof Colm O'Donnell, who was recently listed among the 2016 "most influential" scientists in the world according to Thompson Reuters. Inclusion in this list means a person’s research is in the top 1 per cent for the number of times their work has been cited by other scientists. This is the second time that Prof O'Donnell has featured in this list.

Prof O'Donnell is the Head of the UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering  and he also leads the Food Quality and Processing Research Theme within the Institute. His research interests include process analytical technology for food and bioproduct processing, including hyperspectral imaging, NIR and MIR spectroscopy, computer vision and rheometry; novel food processing technologies such as sonication and ozone processing; dairy processing; and food traceability and authenticity.
