Biography:
Breige McNulty graduated with a first class Honours degree in Human Nutrition and a Diploma in Industry Studies from the University of Ulster. She then spent a period of time in the Nutritional Epidemiology department in Leeds University working on the UK¿s Women Cohort Study before returning to the University of Ulster to complete her PhD in folate metabolism in pregnancy. She has now taken up the post of co-director of the National Adults Nutrition Survey in Unversity College Dublin. |
Research Interests
| My research interests are folate and related B-vitamins in disease and health, energy intake and expenditure and food and nutrient intake in free-living populations in relation to the development of dietary guidelines. |
Functional foods
This project intends to tap into an intelligence in milk, over and above its nutritive value.

We are working to develop The National Research Centre for Diet, Obesity and Diabetes.

This project will conduct an exploration of how genes and diet combine to affect health.
