Obesity, diabetes and diet
We are working with our collaborators to develop The National Centre for Diet and Health. The centre will function as an information hub, combining databases from several national institutions.
Research will inform public policy and clinical practice and, in cooperation with Ireland and Northern Ireland's Population Health Observatory, we will make all information available to the public.

The National Centre for Diet and Health will draw on a wide range of expertise in food and health, public health and public health nutrition, nutritional science, epidemiology, food marketing and consumer behaviour, economics, social psychology, food policy and clinical medicine.
Our research will focus on:
- Nutritional health in the elderly
- Nutrigenomics
- The development of new and existing food consumption databases
- Food safety monitoring
