With the wind to their backs in the second half, UCD put further daylight between themselves and their Westmeath opponents, who could only manage a solitary white flag. Rory O'Carroll, Shane Redmond, Lorcan Smyth, Donie Kingston and Alan Giles were all to the fore as UCD eased into the last eight.
