Geary and the Harris School at University of Chicago host further successful masterclass in programme design and evaluation in public policy

23 October 2012

2011/12 saw the introduction of a successful collaborative programme with the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, resulting in the highly regarded masterclass format aimed at decision makers in public administration and sectors such as NGO's.  First run in June 2011 on the topic of programme design and evaluation in public policy, the series was delivered again in September 2012, to over 35 professionals across ten public sector bodies.

It will be expanded further in 2013, with new programmes in focused topics of policy (such as education and health policy) and a particular emphasis on communication of policy research results for broader audiences. Of particular importance is the role these classes will play in the skills development of the emerging core economics and evaluation capacity of central Government with the new Government Economic and Evaluation Service - an initiative led by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform and the Department of Finance.
