Vitamin D: its prevalence and effects on human health

Abstract

Higher levels of vitamin D in the body have been associated with prevention of multiple diseases and better outcomes in patients. However, conflicting findings have been reported and the causal role of vitamin D deficiency remains to be proven. The seminar will examine current state of the art and novel research approaches, including the utilisation of UVB dose and genetics, in attempting to disentangle potential causal pathway.
