Thesis: ‘In Search of an Identity’: Modernism, Anti-realism and Linguistic Tropes in the Theatre of Luigi Pirandello and Marina Carr.

First year Ph.D. student in Comparative Literature, part of the GREP programme funded by IRCHSS in ‘Gender, Culture and Identity.’ My thesis wishes to explore issues of gender, loss and absence of identity as well as common modernist and post-modernist features in a selection of plays from the corpus of Nobel Prize Italian playwright, Pirandello and internationally acclaimed Irish contemporary playwright, Marina Carr.

My research interests lie in modern and contemporary Irish drama, the European Avant-Garde in theatre at the beginning of the 20th century.
