Anarchy and Geography: new published book by Dr. Federico Ferretti
Dr. Federico Ferretti (School of Geography) has just published his fifteenth book (the first single-authored in English) for international academic publisher Routledge: Anarchy and Geography: Reclus and Kropotkin in the UK
This work is the result of several years of archival research carried out in Canada, Ireland, UK, Netherlands, France and Russia to trace for the first time the transnational networks of famous geographers and activists Elisée Reclus (1830-1905) and Pyotr Kropotkin (1842-1921) in the 'British Islands'. There, they pioneered ideas on social and internationalist geographies fostering early links between engaged scholarship and issues on social justice, feminism, anti-racism, anti-colonialism, animal rights and civil liberties.
Among other sources of funding, this work was supported by specific research grants of UCD College of Social Sciences and Law.
