The UCD Get in Gear Be Active exercise programme is designed to encourage staff to adopt a safe and enjoyable exercise routine as part of a healthy lifestyle. You can choose from a wide variety of fun and exciting exercise activities and you may find enjoyment learning a new activity which you may not have tried before. All activities are specifically designed to encourage you to enjoy the feeling of exercising while improving your own individual fitness levels. The main aim of the UCD Get in Gear Be Active programme is to provide UCD staff with a great opportunity to get involved in sport and exercise activities in a fun environment, using group support throughout this high-quality programme.

After you register you have the option of taking part in a health and fitness assessment before you start your activities. The health and fitness assessment has limited spaces on offer so it is advisable to register early for the programme. A range of exercise activities follow for 6 weeks, after which a post health and fitness assessment is carried out to measure progress. The UCD Get in Gear Be Active programme is run by UCD Sport in partnership with UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science, UCD Institute for Sport and Health and the UCD Institute of Food and Health. The programme is also supported by UCD HR Learning and Development.

Please e-mail getingear@ucd.ie if you have questions regards the UCD Get in Gear Be Active Staff programme.
