The UCD Better Hearts Phase III exercise programme is a six-week programme taking place at the UCD Sports Centre, Belfield, Dublin 4. It is aimed at individuals who have had a heart attack, heart surgery, heart failure, ablations, device insertions or other cardiac events. It is also suitable for those who have two or more risk factors for heart disease, including diabetes.

The UCD Better Hearts Phase IV is a supervised exercise programme where individuals learn to self-manage their overall cardiovascular health. Phase IV is often referred to as the maintenance phase of cardiac rehabilitation because it emphasises on long term changes such as regular exercise programme. Individuals need to have completed a Phase III Cardiac Rehab programme before they can participate in Phase IV.

The UCD Better Hearts Exercise Programmes are delivered by UCD Sport in partnership with UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science, St Vincent's University Hospital and Heart2Heart Cardiac Physiotherapy.
