UCD Get in Gear Get Active Programme

The UCD GET IN GEAR GET ACTIVE programme offers UCD students an opportunity to try out a wide variety of activities in a motivating environment, with a flexible timetable which allows students to include exercise around a busy academic schedule. All activities are specifically designed to encourage you to enjoy the feeling of exercising while improving your own individual fitness level.

The UCD Get in Gear GET ACTIVE programme is a great opportunity to get involved in sport and exercise activities and to help you take responsibility for your health while you study at UCD. You will enjoy meeting new friends along the way and you will be encouraged and motivated by the positive energy experienced throughout the programme.

The UCD Get in Gear Get Active programme is rolled out in October and January each year. After you register, you have the option of taking part in a health evaluation or fitness test (depending on your current level of activity) which will be carried out prior to participating in five weeks of exercise activities. The health evaluation/fitness testing has limited spaces so it is advisable to register early for the programme. Classes will be delivered over 5 weeks at three levels: Low Intensity, Medium Intensity, High Intensity to cater for a range of fitness levels participating in the programme. You can mix and match your workouts depending on your needs and your level of fitness. You can then measure your progress in week 7 by partaking in a post health evaluation or post fitness test.

The UCD Get in Gear Get Active programme is run by UCD Sport in partnership with UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Population Science and the UCD Institute of Food and Health.
