General Requirements

Basic Education High School Examination/ Matriculation Examination
+ Bachelor degree from a recognised university with acceptable grades

or UCD International Foundation Year

If you have completed international school exams (such as Cambridge A Levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma) or have completed a year of university studies, you may be eligible for direct entry to UCD.

If this does not apply to you then you will generally need to complete our International Foundation Year prior to beginning your undergraduate studies.

Please be advised that your fee assessment status determines how you should apply.

In all cases, UCD applicants who are granted EU fee status will only be admitted through the Central Applications Office (CAO) system and in line with CAO policies and procedures and National University of Ireland (NUI) matriculation regulations.
