UCD Erasmus+ funding surpasses €1M mark

UCD’s participation in the Erasmus+ programme has grown steadily in recent years. For 2017/18, the funding level has passed the €1 million mark for the first time. This funding supports 440 students on study and traineeship exchanges across Europe, as well as staff mobility. In particular, for the current year, there is additional funding that provides important financial support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds and with disabilities. It is especially significant to be in a position to support these students from under-represented groups so that they can participate in a mobility period and benefit from an international experience. UCD International anticipates continued growth in the 2018/19 year, with almost 400 students already nominated for Erasmus+ exchanges in the coming year.

Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Its budget of €14.7 billion provides opportunities for over four million Europeans to study, train, gain experience, and volunteer abroad. Set to last until 2020, Erasmus+ doesn't just have opportunities for students, rather it has opportunities for a wide variety of individuals and organisations.
