The School's International Opportunities and Collaborations

The school offers a number of exciting opportunities for students to expand their geographical horizons and go abroad on a number of exchange programs:

Erasmus

Erasmus is an EU-wide exchange program involving a number of different universities across more than 24 countries. Geography  currently has agreements with several universities accross Europe, including places like Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden. Exchange with Department of Urban Planning and Policy, University of Illinois at Chicago

In 2009 the School of Geography, Planning and Environmental policy established an exchange programme with one of the US’s largest planning programmes in the Department of Urban Planning and Policy, College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs (CUPPA) at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The exchange allows graduate students from each institution to progress towards their degrees while accumulating course credit at the exchange partner institution. MEGAPOLITAN

MEGAPOLITAN is an exchange program between Canada (Quebec City, Vancouver) and the EU (Dublin and Barcelona) which started in 2011 and which will expand until 2015. The Megapolitian exchange is for graduate students interested in comparative urban issues, particularly those centring on issues of the livability and sustainability of mega region. NEURUS

Network for European and U.S. Regional and Urban Stidies (Neurus) is an international network of universities aimed at increasing collaborative work on urban and regional development issues. The network is comprised of 13 universities across different regions in the world, including North America, Asia and Latin America. University of Connecticut
