GPEP staff play an active role in contributing to their wider disciplinary communities through membership of editorial teams of leading international peer-reviewed journals. Some examples include:

Government and Policy  

Environment and Planning C

Prof. Alun Jones is a member of the editorial board of Environment and Planning C, a leading journal in the fields of geography, planning and governance.

Irish Geography  

Irish Geography

Prof. Anne Buttimer (Emeritus) and Prof. Anngret Sims (Emeritus) are both members of the editorial board of Irish Geography, published by Routledge/Taylor & Francis.

Irish Geography is the premier peer-reviewed journal devoted to the geography of Ireland and has been published by the Geographical Society of Ireland since 1944.

 International Journal of Climatology  

International Journal of Climatology

Dr Gerald Mills is a member of the editorial board for the International Journal of Climatology. The journal aims to span the well established but rapidly growing field of climatology, through the publication of research papers, major reviews of progress and reviews of new books and reports in the area of climate science.

Dr Mark Scott is an editor of Planning Theory & Practice, with responsibility for Planning & Policy Briefs and Book Reviews.

The journal provides an international focus for the development of theory and practice in spatial planning and a forum to promote the policy dimensions of space and place.

Prof. Zorica Nedovic-Budic is a member of the editorial board of Urban & Regional Information Systems, the flagship publication of the Urban and Regional Information Association (URISA) and is published both in print and online.

Prof. Zorica Nedovic-Budic is a member of the editorial board of the Journal, which is aimed to 1) explore innovative management skills for taming thorny problems that arise with urbanization and 2) provide a platform, in particular between urban planning and public administration, to deal with urban affairs whose solutions must be looked at from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Journal IJSDIR 

International Journal of Spatial Data Infrastructures Research (IJSDIR)

Prof. Zorica Nedovic-Budic is a member of the editorial board of the IJSDIR, which is a peer-reviewed journal published online by the JRC. The Journal is free of charge and adheres to the Open Archives Initiative, which aims to facilitate the dissemination of electronic content. Authors publishing on the IJSDIR retain full but non-exclusive rights in their articles, but are required to use one of the Creative Commons licenses for submitting their work.
