Biography:
Dr. Luke Redmond is an economist trained to MA level with subsequent Doctoral level training in environmental economics; notably carbon markets, emissions trading and climate policy. His PhD examined the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme and understanding the associated carbon market and process of allowance allocation. Prior to working with AP EnvEcon Luke was a research fellow at Mission Climat; the centre for carbon economy and climate change economics analysis and research at the Caisse des Dépôts, Paris. Luke was a member of a specialist research team assigned to analyse the ETS and project mechanisms. Luke has previously served as policy advisor to the Cabinet Office of Japan as a member of the ICPSS (International Collaboration Project on Sustainable Societies) and worked as a researcher and project manager with the European Commission Research Network on Emissions Trading (CATEP). Luke's research interests broadly focus on the areas of environmental economics; carbon markets; emissions trading; flexible market mechanisms; national and international climate and energy policy developments; and emissions mitigation.
