Who is the MSc in Chemistry (by negotiated learning) for?
The MSc in Chemistry (by negotiated learning) is offered to candidates who wish to specialize in a particular area of Chemistry before embarking on a higher degree by research or entering industry.
What will I learn?
Individualised programmes can be selected from a suite of modules. The chosen modules will tailor the course to the student’s interests and requirements and a high-level research project will add significant value and lead to a qualification suited for career advancement in the chemical industry.
How will I benefit?
This flexible programme will, depending on the selection of modules the student chooses, provide either a wide ranging or a very focussed masters level education in advanced chemistry which will either prepare a student for employment in industry or serve as an excellent pre-doctoral education
What is the programme about?
The programme aims to train students to a high level of knowledge and proficiency in a specialized area of chemistry such as Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Energy and Sustainable Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry or Nanotechnology.
The course comprises taught modules over two semesters which are assessed by written examination, in addition to a 3-month research project which concludes with a presentation of the work and submission of a written thesis.
