The English Graduate Society Seminar Series
The English Graduate Society in association with UCD School of English, Drama and Film and the UCD Humanities Institute present their seminar series.
In order to promote discussion and dissemination of research among postgraduates in English studies at UCD and Ireland’s other major universities, the English Graduate Society is launching a weekly seminar series starting in late September 2010, aimed at postgraduate and early stage career scholars.
Salient features of the series include:
A hosting venue with full audio-visual support and podium.The option for speakers to publish in a peer-reviewed e-Journal, with a view to publication in an end-of-year print journal. Lectures by three high-profile senior academics as part of the series. Details to follow. A flexible presentation format that allows for panels of two 20-25 minute papers or one stand-alone 45 minute paper per seminar session. Please note the number of 45 minute slots is extremely limited. A limited number of travel bursaries for speakers travelling from outside Dublin to encourage participation from postgraduates in other Irish universities.
The English Graduate Society hereby invites proposals for papers 20-25 or 45 minutes in length on any aspect of English studies. Those interested should send a 200 word abstract of their paper plus biography to EnglishGradSoc@ucd.ie by Tuesday, 31st August 2010.
