Welcome to UCD School of History & Archives

Berkeley Tragedy

The School of History and Archives extends its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Niccolai Schuster who lost his life in the recent tragedy at Berkeley. Nick was a second year History and Politics student. We also send our sympathies to the families of all the other students who lost their lives. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery go to those students injured in the tragedy.

People of many different backgrounds and from many different countries come to read in our Archives and to study History at UCD. We are custodians of manuscripts and papers dating from the eleventh to the twentieth centuries. We teach courses and supervise research theses on topics spanning two millennia and most parts of the globe. Help us to continue to give the past a good future by spending time with us as a student, researcher or collaborator.

Please explore our website to learn more about teaching and research in the school. We've also created  The History Hub, a website where we make the most recent academic research available online to everyone who loves history, and which also includes podcasts on a whole range of subjects from medieval to modern history, both Irish and international . For information on our extensive archival holdings, visit the collection website.
