Research Interests
| My first research interests lay in the popular culture of nineteenth-century France and in the history of French psychiatry. More recent projects have focused on modern Russia, its contemporary history and political culture and latterly, the culture, politics and society of the Stalin era. Recent research has included work on film history, media history, cultural politics and reception. My current work concerns the cult of Stalin. |
