Research Interests:
Medieval: Royal power and power politics in the Merovingian regna, c. 480-751, in particular the portrayal and impact of revolt, its implications for the exercise and reach of kingship, support, and the roles of local and regional interest groups within and cutting across the political boundaries of the Frankish kingdoms.
Early Modern: Confederate Ireland, Irish political thought and the course and aftermath of the 1641 rebellion as depicted in the Hiberno-Latin sources of the period. Currently translating Conor O'Mahony's Disputatio Apologetica De Iure Regni Hiberniae Pro Catholicis Hibernis Adversus Haereticos Anglos; previously a translator and research assistant on the Commentarius Rinuccinianus Project.
