Academic Titles
Background
One of the recommendations from the Faculty Development, Reward and Recognition Working Group was a proposal to change UCD Academic titles to better align with international practice. A referendum was passed in favour of the changes. The results of this referendum were endorsed by the Governing Authority on the 17th May 2016 and the new titles can be used from the 18th May 2016.

How does this affect you?
- New Job Titles will be created and assigned to your HR record.
- New pay scales will be created with the new nomenclature and assigned to your HR record, there will be no monetary changes.
- Salutations will be updated on your HR record where appropriate.
Timescale of Changes
The above changes will be updated on a phased basis across the University for current Faculty and will be completed by the 31st July 2016.
Once updated, the above changes will be visible to you on your Payslip, the Staff Directory and My Staff Profile.
During the implementation phase you may see a mix of old and new titles on reports so please be aware of this if you are using the data.
All documentation and information on UCD College, School and Unit websites will need to be amended by the 31st July 2016 in line with systems changes. It is the responsibility of Colleges, Schools and Units to amend these websites as appropriate.
