Overview

Financial Authorisation at a Senior Management level is required for every recruitment or appointment-based activity taking place. Approval requests are regularly submitted by the College Principal / Vice President for consideration at a meeting of the University's Budget Review Committee (BRC). Decisions are communicated back directly  to the relevant College Principal / Vice President who then contacts UCD HR to proceed.

Research Funded Posts

Research Funded recruitment or appointment-based activities also require Financial Authorisation but this comes from the University’s Research Finance Office rather than the BRC. Decisions are communicated directly from the finance office to HR (not through the College Principal / Vice President ), only if finance office have a query will they liaise with the Principle Investigator.
