Samuel Beckett and the 'State' of Ireland III

UCD Humanities Institute hosts the ‘Samuel Beckett and the ‘State’ of Ireland’ conference on 2-3 August 2-3. This is the third edition of the conference which is co-organised by Scott Hamilton, Alan Graham and Feargal Whelan, current and recent alumni of the School of English, Drama & Film. Over the past three years the event has grown to become an important date in the international calendar of Beckett Studies and has attracted speakers, both graduate students and faculty, from all over the world. This year a schedule of twenty-six speakers is drawn from eight different countries and will discuss a variety of topics relating to Beckett through the prism of the author’s complex relationship with Ireland. The event is generously sponsored by the John Hume Global Institute for Irish Studies and the UCD Humanities Institute.

Date: 2-3 August 2013

Venue: H204, UCD Humanities Institute (building 30 on the UCD Campus Map)
