Issues in Contemporary Trauma Studies

A podcast of a keynote lecture (Issues in Contemporary Trauma Studies) by Kali Tal (Bern University) which was recorded at the Memory and Trauma: The Body in Pain in Irish Culture symposium which took place on September 12-13th, 2013. The podcast is introduced by Dr Naomi McAreavey (UCD School of English, Drama and Film). This UCD/Boston College Ireland event was funded by the Irish Research Council, UCD College of Arts and Celtic Studies, Boston College Ireland, and UCD Humanities Institute. From the Symposium programme: This inter-disciplinary symposium will interrogate the relationship between memory and trauma in Irish culture with a particular focus on the body as a site and symbol of trauma. The two-day programme will feature a keynote lecture by Kali Tal, author of Worlds of Hurt: Reading the Literatures of Trauma. Organisers: Dr Emilie Pine, Dr Fionnuala Dillane, Dr Naomi McAreavey.
