UCD Humanities Institute sends group to Prismes event in Liverpool

Three graduate students based at the UCD Humanities Institute, Catherine Wilsdon, Feargal Whelan and Giulia Bruna, will form part of a group who will present papers based on their doctoral work at a conference in Liverpool in July 2012. 

The conference is part is the The Pôle Irlande (Irish strand) of Prismes which is directed by Wesley Hutchinson (Paris 3) and includes six ‘titre principal’ from the Sorbonne and seven ‘membres extérieurs’, including HII member Dr P.J. Mathews of the UCD School of English, Drama and Film. This Pôle convenes the Irish Studies network in which UCD, University of Liverpool the University of Ulster participate. The aim of the group is to promote interdisciplinary research in the broad field of Irish Studies with a particular emphasis on exchange between graduate students and established scholars. Previous conferences have been held in Paris 3, UCD and St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra. UCD will be represented by Catherine Wilsdon, Feargal Whelan, Giulia Bruna and David Clare who present papers based on their doctoral work.

Prismes is a research group based at the Institut du Monde anglophone Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3 and financed  by the French Ministry of Research.
