Dr Alan Ross‌‌‌

Alan Ross is currently Lecturer in Roman History at the University of Southampton, UK. He works on the literature and history of the Later Roman Empire, and particularly on historiography and epideictic (speeches of praise) during the fourth century AD. At UCD (2015) he held a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship in the School of Classics where he began a project that will offer a literary and political study of the depiction of the Roman emperor Constantius II (337-361). He is currently preparing a monograph for Brill entitled ‘In Praise of Constantius: Greek Panegyrical Literature in Late Antiquity’.
