Dr Éimear O'Connor

Dr Éimear O’Connor HRHA was awarded her Doctorate from the School of Art History and Cultural Policy, UCD, in 2008, for a thesis on the life and work of Irish artist, Seán Keating. She published her biography of the artist, Seán Keating: Art, Politics and Building the Irish Nation, with Irish Academic Press in 2013. O’Connor undertook her post-doctoral work with TRIARC-Irish Art Research Centre, TCD, as the Clare and Tony White Post-Doctoral Scholar during which time she edited Irish Women Artists: Familiar but Unknown, published by Four Courts Press in 2010. O’Connor is an art historian, curator, lecturer and arts consultant. She has published books, chapters, articles and reviews on Irish art for publications in Ireland, England, America and France, and has lectured on Irish art in cultural institutions and universities at home and abroad. She was elected an Honorary member of the Royal Hibernian Academy of Art in Ireland in 2010. A former member of the Board of Directors of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, O’Connor is presently a member of the Board of Directors of the Arts Council of Ireland. She recently undertook a two year MBA programme with the College of Business Studies, DIT (2014-2016), for which she was awarded first class honours.
