Welcome

The UCD Commercial Law Centre is located in the School of Law in University College Dublin.  Established as the Irish Centre for Commercial Law studies in 1989 under the Directorship of A. Vivion Gill, the Centre exists to promote conferences, seminars and workshops on issues in national and international commercial law, including financial services law, commercial property law and employment law. The Centre provides for a unique complimentary relationship between University College Dublin and the legal and business communities, as well as discharging the CPD functions of the School of Law.

Since its inception the Centre has hosted in excess of 150 presentations.  The Centre is particularly known for its range of speakers from Ireland, Europe and the United States ensuring that delegates are exposed to presentations from acknowledged experts designed to acquaint them with the most up-to-date practical perspectives on national and international law and practice. Where possible, the centre publishes the expert conference and seminar presentations.

Administration of the Centre is assisted by a Board of Management which is chaired by Mr Justice Peter Kelly of the Commercial Court.  Members of the Board are drawn from the legal, business and financial services sectors and their collective expertise helps to ensure that the Centre can identify issues of topical practical concern for these sectors.
