A Chinese Film Show
SUMMER OUTING
This years outing is a visit to Dublin Zoo, which has had some changes over the last few years.
Because it has grown so much in size we thought we would make a day of it, and so we will meet
(outside the main entrance of the Zoo) at 11am, which should enable us to see everything we want to.
The principal attraction is the herd of Asian elephants (which are still to be found wild in Yunnan in China.)
At the moment there are two mothers, who are sisters, Bernardine and Jasmine, and their three youngsters,
all female except the youngest !
The other new attraction is the African Savannah which opened some years ago as the African Plains and doubled the size of the Zoo.
It has now been made more African, and we can get a much more interesting view of animals all together
as they would be in Africa, but without the predators!
Of course all the other animals are there too, lions, tigers, crocodiles and gorillas, to name but a few!
The Meercat Restaurant serves a very good variety of food from a snack to a full meal.
When we know how many are coming we can arrange for a table to be reserved for us at lunch time.
Because some ICCS members are also Zoo members, the admission price will be reduced, depending on numbers.
If you would like to come on this outing, and we hope you will, please inform the
Hon. Sec. Nora McDowell at 67, Cowper Rd., Dublin 6, phone 01 4971505, or
Email irishchineseculturalsociety@hotmail.com.
Remember: Saturday 6th June, outside the main gate of Dublin Zoo at 11am.
