Genzyme Ireland

Established in 2001, Genzyme Ireland is situated on a 31 acre site in Waterford. This multi phased Biopharmaceutical facility has a capital investment of over €260 million and employs over 320 personnel. It is a state-of-the-art facility for finishing of biopharmaceuticals and employs a high level of automation, including Manufacturing Execution Systems. 




Sigmoid Pharma Limited

Founded by former Elan and NTera executives, Sigmoid Pharma’s business model is to develop its own pipeline of drugs using the LEDDS™ oral drug delivery platform while establishing collaborative formulation arrangements with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide.

Sigmoid are currently supporting the IDDN by facillitating a PhD project using their know-how, technology and facilities.  Our PhD student for this project was working for Sigmoid and was looking to gain a PhD qualification.

Aerogen are supporting our pulmonary projects by providing their nebulizer technology, as well as providing facilities, know-how and advice.

Arch Therapeutics is a Massachusetts medical device company focused on radically transforming surgery and interventional care with a novel, elegant technology to seal holes in the body and prevent bleeding (hemostasis) and leaking (sealant). The first planned product is for surgical hemostasis - a big market with great-unmet need.
