At the end of the workshop you will leave with an idea, a business model and the 3 next steps you need to take to make it happen.

Workshop: Come with a Pencil, Leave with a Start-up Idea!

Date: 24 October 2012

Time:  9:30 am - 1:30 pm (registration and refreshments from 9 am)

Location: Red Room, UCD Sports Centre, Belfield.

Registration: If you would like to register to attend click here

Techniques developed by NESTA, Alex Osterwalder (Business Model Generation) and John Mullins (Getting to Plan B) will be used during the workshop.

We're not going to be talking much about products design or billion dollar ideas. This is about finding ideas driven by you, not the market.

This leads to businesses with 3 big strengths:

  • You're able to start on your idea, today, with the resources you already have
  • You have a natural unfair advantage because the idea is seeded with the things you care about and are good at
  • You'll like running your company enough to be able to weather the unavoidable (and often fatal) grind which hits every start-up at some point.

The goal of the workshop is for you to leave with an idea which isn't simply "good", but is something you are actually in a position to make happen.

This workshop is organised by UCD Innovation in collaboration with Dublin City Council and Capital Enterprise (London) and is part of the Innovation Dublin 2012 and with support from the Interreg 4B Open Innovation Project.

The Innovation Dublin 2012 festival demonstrates Dublin’s capacity to inspire, interact and innovate.
