Thriving in a no growth economy
"Anyone who believes exponential growth can go on forever in a finite world is either a madman - or an economist." (Kenneth Boulding).
Does this mean that we all need to stop designing ? On the contrary: A growing worldwide movement is looking through the fresh lens of progress without physical expansion of the economy.
UCD Innovation is delighted to be partnering with the Institute of Designers in Ireland in welcoming John Thackara to Dublin as part of the Dublin Creative Design Network when he will discuss this topic in more detail as part of the Innovation Dublin 2012 festival.
Fast Company described John Thackara as “a business provocateur….”. For the Wall Street Journal, he “has established a global reputation as a cutting edge design expert”. Wired called him “a design luminary”.
