Cylon Group makes it into final 30 in Global Clean-Tech Awards
Cylon Group, which develops smart energy management systems for buildings, is the only Irish company to reach the Top 30 in the Global Clean-Tech Cluster Association’s(GCCA) 2012 Later Stage Awards.
Global Cleantech is a non-profit association, headquartered in the USA, that creates conduits for companies to harness the tremendous benefits of international cleantech cluster collaboration in an efficient, affordable, and structured way
The 30 semi-finalists were whittled down from the more than 4,000 companies that were represented by the GCCA's 45 international member clusters, including the Irish cluster, The Green Way.
Cylon Controls Ltd was established in 1985 by Sean Giblin, a UCD engineering graduate, when he spun the company out from research at University College Dublin.

In May Cylon announced that it was planning to create 50 new jobs over the next four years as part of an €11 million investment in its energy management division Cylon Active Energy.
In the GCCA later stage awards, Cylon has been chosen as one of 3 companies in the Lighting/Energy Efficiency Award Category. The other finalists in this category are the Canadian LED-tech company Light-Based Technologies and the French company Inawa.
The finalists will now be judged by 28 cleantech venture capitalists, investors and serial entrepreneurs who collectively manage $3.5 billion in clean technology investment.
Winners in the 10 Later Stage Award Categories will be announced at the Savannah International Clean Energy Conference which will be held on 12 November.
