Dublin’s Creative Design Network at University College Dublin

University College Dublin has established an exciting new initiative called the 'Dublin Creative Design Network'. This initiative has been established to build on existing activities in the area of design, innovation and creativity within Engineering, Architecture and Computer Science.

The network is being driven by a multidisciplinary group encompassing:

The current economic environment requires a step-change in how Ireland delivers. This is relevant across all aspects of society and includes education, products, services and government. Establishing creativity, innovation and design as core elements of this step-change is pivotal to success.

Graduates leaving UCD need to be able to position themselves in a global market and to distinguish themselves not just through academic excellence but also through their ability to develop novel, creative and optimized solutions to problems they encounter.

With the inclusion of NCAD partners, alongside UCD’s disciplinary strengths in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Engineering & Architecture, Business & Law and Health Sciences, UCD is well placed to establish this network and engage business, industry and the wider community in this important debate.
