My name is Alyssa Beatty and my home college is Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, United States. During my first year in college I decided I wanted to study abroad for a semester. I explored many options but UCD was the best fit for me because of their great food science department, multicultural campus and close proximity to the city.
I met so many friends from Ireland as well as around the world that I will stay in touch with for the rest of my life. It was interesting to be able to speak English during my stay as well as try and learn a bit of Irish on the side. Studying for a semester at UCD was life changing and I wish I would have stayed longer!
