UCD's Global Relations and Partnerships
As Ireland’s Global University, UCD seeks to develop and support partnerships with other institutions, governments and research agencies around the world. It does so in support of its Global Engagement Strategy and to underpin the fundamentally collaborative nature of the university’s core missions in teaching and learning, and research and discovery.
UCD International plays a key role in supporting UCD’s global relations and partnerships, working collaboratively with the University’s senior management, Colleges and Schools to develop strategic international relationships and networks for the long term.
- In line with regional engagement strategies and plans, staff in UCD International support the development of bilateral and multilateral partnerships, securing external funding where possible.
- They develop and champion policy frameworks in support of global relations, and collate and analyse information on the university’s international partnerships and its global reach.
- UCD International supports UCD’s participation in a range of international university networks, including Universitas 21, and leads a diplomatic engagement strategy on behalf of the university.
- UCD International staff also coordinate visits to the university by a wide range of formal delegations, as well as making arrangements for high-level overseas missions by senior UCD staff.
