Campus Accommodation

UCD has set aside a large proportion of on-campus rooms for international students.

The existing allocation balance was changed in favour of new entrant students.  Consequently in 2016/17, continuing and senior students will not be prioritised. The principles of “vulnerability” and “contribution” were used to prioritise allocation of accommodation.

For up-to-date information regarding on-campus accommodation please see UCD Residences website.

Priority Students:

Conscious that the demand for student on-campus accommodation exceeds supply our dedicated Student Experience Group has recommended accommodation is set aside for the following Priority students.

  • Stage 1 Non EU Only (Including 1st year of attendance)
  • Year 1 Taught Masters and Research students (Non EU)
  • International Single Semester Students (Study Abroad & Non EU Exchange students)

The accommodation booking process will be spread over a number of days so please check your email regularly from the 24th of June.

All full-degree International (Non-EU) undergraduate applicants and graduate applicants who have accepted their course offer prior to 17th June 2016 will be deemed to have applied for campus accommodation and will be randomly assigned a sequence on the campus accommodation booking list. These names are sorted by computer-generated random selection.

On 24th June 2016 accommodation offers will be emailed based on your place on the booking list. When you receive this email you will have 72 hours to choose your room and pay your deposit to secure your booking.

International Study Abroad and exchange students will be contacted by members of UCD Study Abroad and exchange staff with details of accommodation application procedures.

Non Priority Students:

Once the UCD Residences occupancy period begins some accommodation on campus becomes available as a result of cancellations. These rooms will be available in the SIS Web booking system for all student cohorts to book on a first come first serve basis. For information on booking a room please visit The Booking Process and How to Book a Room.

How to Book:

If you are an eligible student, please see the following ‘How to Book Guide’ that will walk you through the process. Alternatively you can watch the following video.
