Campus Accommodation

UCD has set aside a large proportion of on-campus rooms for international students. However, places are limited and we regret that we are unable to guarantee accommodation to all international students. For up-to-date information regarding on-campus accommodation please see UCD Residences website.

Types of Campus Accommodation

UCD has campus accommodation for over 2,500 students in

  • halls of residence and
  • three, four, five and six-bedroom self-catering apartments.

These are spread across five locations, with 300 places located on the nearby Blackrock Campus. For further information, please see UCD Residences section on Residences.

Cost of On-Campus Accommodation

All prices are available at the UCD Residence Fees website.

The residential fee (rent) is per person for the whole academic year, payable in three instalments:

  • 55% on or before the first day of license period
  • 20% on or before 12th Jan 2015
  • 25% on or before 2 March 2015

Students wishing to stay in Glenomena or Proby House for 50 weeks will pay in 4 instalments.

A deposit is payable at the time of booking. This is refundable at the end of the academic year less the cost of any damage/breakages. All residences will also have a utility charge of €396 and an insurance charge of €35.

Semester only students are not eligible to pay in instalments. The entire fees should be paid on or before the first day of the license period and will consist of the single semester license fee, utilities plus the €35 insurance charge.

Please note that should a student vacate their residence during the occupancy period they will forfeit their deposit and licnce fee.

Making a Booking

Room bookings are made on the UCD Residences website or through your SIS web account

Current Students, International Students and Postgraduate students wishing to book accommodation for Sept 2014 can begin their accommodation booking in early June 2014. Please check the Residences website and here for updates on when to book.
