Brazil - Science Without Borders
University College Dublin (UCD) welcomes students participating in the Brazilian Science without Borders programme to study abroad at the largest and most diverse university in Ireland.
The UCD international team will support you before you leave home, when you first arrive and throughout your time at UCD. Our aim is for you to get the most out of your experience academically, culturally and socially. Application Process & Deadline
You can apply for study abroad programmes on-line at www.ucd.ie/apply. After you complete the on-line form, you will be prompted to upload your transcript to our system.
The application deadline is May 1st
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for any UCD Study Abroad programme, you should hold a GPA of 3.00 and submit your transcript as part of the application process.
English Language - 6.5 IELTS (no band less than 6.0) or equivalent
Academic Programme
You can take up to twelve modules (classes) per year at UCD. You can register for less than twelve modules if you have permission from your home university. Science without Borders students have access to a range of undergraduate modules available in the areas of Science, Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, Food & Nutrition and Pre-Medical.* You can register for two modules per semester outside your subject area. You will be pre-registered for modules before you arrive at UCD and in most cases, you will have up to two weeks after the start of term to change your modules. Average weekly course-load: 12 lecture hours (* subject to capacity and timetabling).

Choosing a Programme
You should apply for the UCD Study Abroad programme in the academic area where you are taking most of your modules. Please see below for the list of programmes and subject areas available:
SCIENCE STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMME
- LARGEST & MOST DIVERSE SCIENCE PROGRAMME IN IRELAND – from Mathematical & Physical Sciences, Computer Science to Biology, Bio-molecular Sciences and Chemistry.
- PEER MENTORS – As a Science Study Abroad student you will be linked with a peer mentor who is a second or third year Irish students
- UNIQUE RESEARCH MODULE – You can be an active member of a research group in areas ranging from Physics and Computer Science to Chemistry, Biology and the Biomedical Sciences.
