Masters Programmes Contact details

UCD has agreements in place with a number of Universities throughout China. These agreements offer students of partner institutions the opportunity to undertake taught Masters Programmes at UCD. UCD currently has collaborative programmes with the following partner universities in China

  • Beijing University of Chemical Technology 
  • Minzu University of China
  • South China Agricultural University
  • Shenzhen University
  • Beijing Technology and Business University
  • Harbin Institute of Technology
  • Tianjin University of Sport Science
  • Beijing University of Technology

 3+2/4+2-September start

Students study for three years at their home University, undertake two semesters of preparatory study at UCD, followed by a taught Masters programme at UCD. They obtain a Bachelor Degree from their home university and a Masters Degree from UCD

3+1.5/4+1.5-January Start

Students study for three and a half years at their home University, undertake one semester of preparatory study at UCD, followed by a taught Masters programme at UCD. They obtain a Bachelor Degree from their home university and a Masters Degree from UCD

4+1-September Start

This option is available to exceptional candidates who are able to show that they already have the required language, cultural and academic knowledge to proceed directly to a Masters programme at UCD upon graduation. Students undertake a taught Masters programme at UCD. They obtain a Masters Degree from UCD

Entry Criteria

English Language
Students are required to show evidence of their English language ability. 
  • IELTS-a minimum score of 5.5 for 3+2 and 6.0 for 3.5+1.5
  • TOEFL-iBT 69 for 3+2 and iBT 79 for 3.5+1.5
  • Other similar exams recognised by UCD

Applicants for programmes in Business are required to achieve an IELTS score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6 in each section, before being admitted to the Masters programme. 

Applicants for Law are strongly recommended to take the IELTS exam as this subject demands a high level of competency in the English language. 

Candidates who wish to enter the 4+1 programme will be required to demonstrate a higher level of language ability. Individual Masters Programmes may set their own entry requirements


Academic performance. 
Students are required to have an average mark of 75% or higher. Entry into the Masters programme is conditional on this mark remaining at 75% or higher upon graduation. 

Interview
All students will normally be interviewed at their home University. This interview will be conducted by a UCD panel and will assess language and academic skills, as well as the applicant’s suitability for study at UCD. Applicants who have not taken language tests such as IELTS or TOEFL may be considered and will be required to take an additional UCD language test before interview.

Fees
  • 3+2/4+2: €9,000 for the first year and €10,000 for the Masters programme in the second year
  • 3.5+1.5/4.5+1.5: €6,000 for the first half year and €10,000 for the Masters programme
  • 4+1: €10,000 for the Masters programme
