| Description: The National Folklore Collection has launched a website – www.bealbeo.ie – devoted to early sound recordings of Irish folklore and oral history. The website, which is supported by the Heritage Council of Ireland, features a selection of early wax cylinder recordings in Irish and English. Transcriptions and/or translations accompany each sample recording. Further examples of early sound recordings from the archive of the National Folklore Collection will be added to this site. |
