Data Costs
For the most part, access to ISSDA data for use in teaching or
unfunded research is free, excepting costs arising for datasets
requested on CD-ROM (see below). However, certain datasets (eg. ECHP) carry compulsory charges, which will be detailed on the relevant
page on this site for the dataset in question.
Data Request forms
Before accessing ISSDA data (excluiding CSO or ECHP data), users must fill out and return a Data
Request Form. This can either be emailed or sent via normal post to ISSDA
using the details found on the Contact page.
If requesting CSO data, the relevant CSO data request form must be
signed and sent via normal post to ISSDA. See the CSO
page for the relevant request form.
FTP access
Access to the ISSDA FTP site is controlled - please check the
access conditions attached to datasets, before requesting an account
and password.
Ordering ISSDA CD-ROMs In certain cases, data may be obtained (or may only be available)
by requesting a CD-ROM directly from ISSDA. In such
cases, a minimum handling charge of £25/€31.75 per dataset will be
levied (£5/€6.35 for students), in addition to any charges
as may be levied by the data owner.
Documentation
Documentation will, as far as possible, be supplied in electronic form
(usually Adobe Acrobat, a free reader for which can be downloaded from
here).
Where documentation is provided in hard copy, a charge of 10p/13¢
per page will be levied.
