Official data from the Central Statistics Office

ISSDA is pleased to announce the availability of a selected number of official datasets, kindly supplied by the Central Statistics Office (CSO). These include:

• Census of Population data - small area (SAPS) and 5% individual file
• Household Budget Survey (HBS)
• Quarterly National Household Survey (QNHS)

• Labour Force Survey (LFS)

Availability

Files are currently available by CD-ROM request only, and are provided in SPSS Portable format, which can be read by many of the statistics packages in use today. 

Access restrictions

• CSO data is available from ISSDA for non-commercial, social science research only.  Requests for any other use of the data must be directed to the CSO.
• Data requests for consultancy or commercial purposes should be directed to the CSO.  
• Census data (SAPS and COPSAR) is only available from ISSDA for academic use in Ireland.
• If you are in any doubt as to the status of your request, please contact ISSDA or the CSO.

Requesting data

Requests for CSO data should be made using the CSO Contract provided with the datasets listed above.  The relevant contract should be completed, signed, and sent to the address provided in the contact page.  CSO data requests will not be accepted by email.
