IT Planning 2009-2013
Our five year plan for IT Services is based on the IT Strategy 2009-2013 . In collaboration with our IT Steering Groups, we now have prepared detailed plans for each service area. These set priorities for the next three years and are reviewed on a regular basis. Our IT Plan 2012 contains a summary of projects for the next year.

Five Year Plan 2003 - 2008
Previously University College Dublin agreed a five-year plan for implementation of Electronic Information and Communications Technology in December 2003. A high level IT Strategy and detailed IT Architecture (pdf) are now being implemented funded by a 5 year capital investment programme.
Library & Information Technology Board
The Library & Information Technology Board ensures that UCD IT Services is aligned with the UCD strategic plan and provides an integrated approach, in conjunction with Library services, to information and knowledge management across the University.
It makes recommendations regarding funding to assure that UCD IT Services is appropriately resourced to address the needs of the academic and administrative functions of the university.
IT Steering Committees
Each major aspect of University IT is represented by a Steering Group, which contributes to the development and implementation of IT plans and strategy.
Also, an Information Security Advisory Steering Group is in place to recommend security policy, standards and guidelines to the University IT Steering Groups.
Current IT Security policies can be viewed here under IT Policy.
College IT Committees and Plans
Annual IT Planning is conducted through College IT Committees, supported by IT Services. College Liaison roles were established in September 2000 to promote better communications and planning. These roles provide direct links between IT Services and each College with similar roles for administrative and other services. The College Liaison service is managed by Seamus Shaw, Chief Technology Officer, UCD IT Services.
Central IT User Committee
A Central IT User Committee with representatives from College Committees is responsible for prioritising issues across Colleges and provides input to the annual work programme planning.
IT Work Programme
In January each year UCD IT Services publishes a work programme with details of the projects and plans for the coming year.
