Strategic Developments

We aim to maintain our quality of service and to deliver an IT environment which will support UCD in its collaboration and expansion initiatives. Our new services for 2012 include mobile and cloud development, which allow flexible access to IT Resources, Content and Applications. UCD Mobile with Blackboard Mobile Learn have been available since September 2011 and are very popular with staff and students.

During 2012 we will encourage the enhanced use of eLearning Services through a number of initiatives which focus on the development of content and the use of best practice technologies and we will improve and ehance the management services we provide across the university, supporting our students, research, staff and financial activities.

In 2012 we will implement major projects to refresh existing infrastructure to meet increasing demand and support new campus develoment, while continuting to foster communication and customer interaction through our College Liaison and School Ambassador programme.

Our work programme contains the priority developments for 2012:

Developing eLearning Services

Expanding our User Services - with mobile and cloud computing

Enhancing Management Information Services

Refreshing the IT Infrastructure
