Login to the network on a UCD computer via a fixed cable point (non-wireless)

Following these instructions to login to the network on a UCD machine via a fixed cable point (non-wireless).

You will need your UCD username and password to login.

Note: If you are using wireless, find out how to access the UCD Network using wireless


Step 1

Switch on the computer.

Wait until the computer finishes loading.

A login box with the word ‘Novell’ will then be displayed. This is the system that controls access to the UCD network.

Note: If the Novell login box does not appear, you need to install the Novell client. Find out how to install the Novell client.

Step 2

Enter your username and password into the fields shown on screen.

Step 3

Click OK.

You should now be logged in to the UCD Network.

How to log out of the UCD network

Follow the instructions below to log out.

Remember, you must log out when you leave a computer unattended. You alone are responsible for how your computer account is used.

Unauthorized access could result in someone abusing your privileges or printing credit.


Step 1

Click the Start button in the lower-right corner of the screen

From the menu, select Log Off UserID.

Step 2

You are now logged out the UCD network.
