Register a student laptop

To connect a laptop to the UCD wired network you must first register it with IT Services (only UCD registered students will be able to avail of this service).

Note: you do not have to register your laptop to access the Wireless network in UCD. For information on doing this click here.

Follow these instructions to register your laptop.

Step 1

Turn off/disable your wireless network card and using a network cable, connect your laptop to a network point in a laptop area around campus.

Step 2

Launch a web browser. You will be automatically presented with a registration screen. When asked for a User Id and Password you should enter your UCD Connect account details. Follow the steps to submit your registration and it will be completed within 24 hours

Step 3

Once registration is complete you will be able to access the wired network.
