To see which of your courses use Blackboard:
- Login to Blackboard. Find out how to login.
- Your courses will be listed under the My Courses section on the My Blackboard page.
- To access a course, click on the course name. This will open its home page.
- Navigate the course by clicking the buttons on the left-hand side of the page.
Why aren't some of my modules appearing in Blackboard?
When you log into Blackboard, you may not see all of your modules. If this happens, check the following:
Registration
Blackboard course enrolment information is read directly from the student registration system. Log into SIS, and make sure you are fully registered for the module. It is not enough to register for a programme, you must also be registered to the individual module.
NOTE: A "Provisional" registration status will not entitle you to Blackboard module access. You must complete the registration process first.
Course Availability
Some lecturers do not use Blackboard to provide course materials. To see if your module is available on Blackboard, log into SIS and review your class list. Blackboard-accessible modules should have a small Blackboard icon next to their names.
Alternatively, log into Blackboard and click on the Courses tab. Then search for the module by browsing the course catalogue or entering the module code in the Search window.
I've just updated my registration details. Why aren't the changes reflected on my Blackboard account?
Blackboard processes enrolment information every night. If you register for a new module, or change your existing modules, the changes will not be applied to your Blackboard account until the overnight update job has run.
After making registration changes, log into Blackboard the following morning, and your course list should then be up-to-date.
If you are correctly registered, and the module is available on Blackboard, please e-mail ithelpdesk@ucd.ie to report the access issue.
